  3. Nov 02,  · I think think the OP is referring to what exactly "Rhythm" and "Treble" means in general. The Rythym (neck) pickup is wound with less wire so it produces a much lower/more mellow sound, and is usually used to accentuate chords, while the Treble (bridge) pickup is wound hotter (more wire = higher output), and is usually used for soloing due to it's clear/defined sound.
  4. At Carnegie Hall, gospel singer Wintley Phipps delivers perhaps the most powerful rendition of Amazing Grace ever recorded. He says, "A lot of people don't realize that just about all Negro spirituals are written on the black notes of the piano. Probably the most famous on this slave scale was written by John Newton, who used to be the captain of a slave ship, and many believe he heard this.
  5. The sleeve notes do name the strathspey version of the tune - Athol Brose - and also acknowledges that Sean Keane is not playing ‘pure drop’ Scottish strathspey style. There is something of the ‘performance’ element in the playing of Scottish tunes in the march/strathspey/reel, slow air/strathspey/reel format.
  6. Fiddle > Sheet Music > Strathspey. One of the most recognisable tune patterns in Scottish music as they use the famous Scots snap.
  7. I first heard her on AM radio, then FM, then FM Stereo, 45 RPM's, 33 LP's, reel to reel, 8 track cartridges, stereo cassettes, quadraphonic disks, CD's and now streaming. Whatever the medium (and there are more to follow and Barbra Streisand will be available there), /5().
  8. March time tunes. The new contest rule states: B The music for Grade 4 shall be 4 parts of 2/4 March (one or two tunes), and one Strathspey and Reel each of 2 or more parts played once through. Some thought needs to be given as to the selection of tunes and the manner in which the MSR should be performed. Tune Selection.
